UK IHCD AMBULANCE TECHNICIAN COURSE

ESTI in partnership with SWASFT South Western Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust is delighted to offer the only NHS certified IHCD Ambulance technician course available to the public in Ireland and the UK.

This course is a first stage on a UK Paramedic practice qualification and can also used as a stand alone qualification for those seeking to provide emergency care and work on NHS emergency and private UK ambulances. There is no requirement to have any medical qualification to go on this course however having an interest or similar qualification will obviously help.

Module 1 consists of 3 units run over 9 weeks in Dublin Ireland, delivered by SWASFT instructors
Anatomy and Physiology
Introduction to the body systems, Cardiac, Respiratory, Digestive, Nervous, Skeletal
Patient examination and assessment
Airway management and resuscitation
Cardiac monitoring and AED
Trauma
Wounds and bleeding
Infants and children
Maternity
Extremes of body temperature
Infection prevention and control
Law and Ambulance staff
Major incidents
Managing Injury
Special Conditions

Module 2 consists of IHCD blue light driving course run over 3 weeks in UK, delivered by SWASFT instructors
A full C1 driving licence is required to go on this module.

Module 3 consists of 750 hours of clinical placement on SWASFT ambulances as a full emergency ambulance crew member
This will be on shift hours in the UK with a SWASFT crew member.

Whilst in the UK discounted student accommodation is available to students and approx. €15 per night. The module 3 hours are NOT PAID however, depending on availability and suitability some PAID ambulance work may be available to students during their time in SWASFT.

There are many realistic opportunities for employment as an Ambulance Technician in the UK after this course, It is our opinion that this is the most realistic pathway to serious clinical progression and emergency ambulance careers for anyone looking to work in this area or go on to future UK Paramedic training. ESTI will have work for all who complete this course

This is a high quality course and it is important to take into consideration a few points
This is a fully accredited NHS foundation trust IHCD certified course, run by the largest NHS trust ambulance service in the UK.
NHS Trusts ONLY employ NHS certified technicians and not technicians with non-NHS certified courses. You get what you pay for !!!
This course is focused on quality and will deliver high quality instruction to all students undertaking the course, SWASFT instructors will deliver the didactic course in Dublin, Ireland.
Placements are already arranged for students by the SWASFT to gain experience as an Ambulance Technician. Some other courses expect students to arrange their own placements on private and non frontline ambulances.
This course is an investment in you !!! ESTI will have Ambulance Technician job openings for all who complete this course.

If this course interests you then simply apply via this website or info@esti.ie or contact 01 4098113
places are limited to 12 students per course
